You can book your GCSE maths exam as an external candidate through MME. The following details the process and how to prepare for your exam.
GCSE Maths Exams Process
- Reserve your exam space through MME by booking through our website.
- You will get an invoice emailed to you immediately after booking to confirm the booking.
- The MME exams team will then contact you with further information and guidance.
- We will book you in to the closest exam centre to you with with the exam board you want to take.
- We will confirm the time, location and details of your exam so that you are set up and feel confident well in advance of exam day.

You can resit your GCSE maths exam with MME at anytime. We will provide additional resources and support to help you improve your grade.
No currently all GCSE maths exams must be sat in a paper format at a local testing centre. We work with local testing centres around the country and will look to minimise your travel.
There is a non-calculator paper 1, then paper 2 and 3 are calculator. Paper 3 is also a problem solving paper and is often the one that students struggle with most.
You will need a level 4 to be awarded, which is an equivalent to an old grade C. In certain circumstances course providers may ask for a higher grade but this is rare.
